Activist Academy Romania 2022

From 24-31 July 2022, our Activist Academy 2022 gathered 24 young LGBTQI activists from 16 countries in Bucharest, Romania, to learn new skills, exchange on essential topics, meet new people and contexts, and have a blast!

The week kicked off with four insightful Expert Workshops on Education, Communication, Advocacy and Workshop Facilitation. Participants were then divided into four Teams, under the guidance of a Mentor. Over the last three days, each Team had to put everything they learned in the Workshops to overcome 2 real-life Challenges and present their projects to the rest of the participants, while receiving feedback from the Judges.

The Teams, Mentors and Judges then gave points to each Team based on the presentations. The leaderboard of the 2022 Edition is: 1) Queer Reacts, 2) Make Glam, 3) Systematic Chaos and Douze Points. The week also included a much-deserved visit to a gigantic aquatic park, as well as an informal gathering with our Romanian Members MozaiQ.

Thank you to our lovely participants for being so invested and sharing so many important ideas and discussions. Thank you also to the 4 Mentors who guided the participants throughout the week, to the 4 Experts who facilitated the Workshops, and to our Board and team Members who made the Academy happen.
