About the Global Online Activist Academy 2023

23 March — 9 April 2023

IGLYO’s Activist Academy is back with its 2-week skills-based training programme for young people. The programme is designed for youth activists between the ages of 18 and 30 at the beginning of their activist careers who are passionate about activism, LGBTQI rights, learning and collaborating with other LGBTQI activists from around the globe. The goal is to jumpstart younger activists into skill-demanding and leadership roles within LGBTQI organisations.

After several successful online editions in 2020, 2021 and 2022, IGLYO’s Activist Academy is going online and global again from 23 March to 9 April 2023. The call for applications is open until Sunday 26 February 2023. The Activist Academy is completely free of charge and we welcome applications from individuals and teams of up to three participants.

Over the course of two weeks, participants will take part in 3 expert-facilitated workshops before attempting 2 challenges to apply the skills they will have learned, while receiving feedback from the official Activist Academy judges. The Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 winning teams based on their completed challenges, with each team receiving a prize worth €500!

Applications for the Global Online Activist Academy 2023 closed on Sunday 26 February 2023 at 23:59 CEST.

IGLYO particularly welcomes applications from underrepresented groups and communities such as young women, trans and non-binary youth, intersex youth, young people with disabilities, young people living with HIV, racialised youth, Black youth and young people of colour, and young refugees and migrants.
